The Driveway Streaker

Thursday, September 17, 2009

July 2006

Earlier in the day of this photo, we had purchased and set up a small snap pool set for Big Brother to play in.

After just a short stint of playing in the water - where it was too cold and he only wanted to play naked, which doesn't go hand-in-hand - he decided it was time to streak down our driveway for the whole neighborhood to see.

I did, fortunately, catch him long enough to put a towel around him. And it was cute the way it turned out - he looks like a mini (streaker) man!

Gotta Love 'Em!

Thursday, September 3, 2009

Sunday afternoon my 17-year-old son tells me he found Jesus.

Then shows me this photo.

I think he needs to find a new facial expression.

But I love him anyway. :)

Our baby girl has a new game. This time when I was playing along, I decided to use the camera too!

Princess A & Her John Deer Jammies

Confession time: the following story really has nothing to do with this picture, but I just had to share! :)

Recently our local hospital was asking that parents who had delivered their babies in their Family Birthing Until within the last 18 months share their stories. Of the stories submitted, 4 babies would be chosen to appear in seven country region advertising campaign to include billboards and print.

And Princess A was chosen as one of the 4!

Funny thing is: I submitted our story on whim. I wasn't really looking to win, didn't even think we would but...

This is definitely going to be an interesting experience!

Aren't They Beautiful?

Thursday, July 30, 2009

This photo was taken this past Sunday at my parents house. The (obviously) oldest baby is our Princess A. The two little ones are my Aunt's granddaughter and great-grandson; and they are exactly one week apart in age.

The really funny thing about taking this photo was that my husband had to literally hold Princess A's hands to keep her from grabbing a bow and a tuft a hair. So just as I was ready to snap the shot, he moved his hands back.

I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but only the flash of the camera distracted her long enough to save the tiny ones. :)

I Can See You!

Thursday, July 23, 2009

I took this photo - with the help of the zoom feature, of course - from my bed. This is the view I usually see every morning. Princess A wakes up, peeks at me between the railing, and "talks" to me (or Daddy, if it's Saturday).

She'll go on like this for about 30 minutes before she decides to it's time to get out of bed. ;)

Just A Country Boy and Girl

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Big Brother loves his John Deere, which he's had since he was 2. Now that Princess A is sitting up very well on her own, he's eager to start dragging pulling her around with him.

I, on the other hand, am eager to see how long his eagerness lasts. (You moms with 2 or more children understand what I mean, right?)

Two Beauties On A Blanket

Two Beauties On A Blanket
Growing up, I was very close to my cousin Jennifer even though she lived 4 hours away and we usually only got to see each other once or twice a year.

Now, all grown up ourselves, we both have daughters of our own and we're thrilled to finally get them together this year.

My little Princess is the one on the left and her little blonde hair, blue-eyed beauty is on the right. There's just a barely over a year's difference in their ages.

The Neighbors Were Loving Us Last Night

Thursday, July 2, 2009

Thank goodness most of our neighbors are on vacation this week; otherwise, I'm sure we would have been driven out of the neighborhood by an angry mob.

Brian is still giving it 100% on getting the preparations made for our concrete patio to be poured. So much so that he's willing to work by the light of a skid loader.

I gotta love him for being so hard-working (not to mention handy! lol)

Daddy's Constant Companion (A Thousand Word Thursday)

Thursday, June 18, 2009

This is one of my favorite photos of Brian and Big Brother. At the time this was taken in Cave City, Kentucky, our little guy was 9 months old.

The photo displayed here is just one in a thousand (if not more) that shows these two together. Even at this age, this little guy didn't want Mom for anything; even then he was Daddy's constant companion.

And considering what my husband has been through (that's another post for another day), I don't think there is a man more deserving of having a child who idolizes him.

I feel priviledged to be the woman who gave him such a gift.

In Full Bloom

Thursday, June 11, 2009

After planting some flowers at preschool for an afternoon project, Big Brother was wanted to pretty-up our front porch with a flower project of our own.

He was insistant on choosing orange and white...in honor of his and Daddy's favorite football team: University of Tennessee Volunteers.

And While The Rest of the World Sleeps...(A Thousand Words Thursday)

Thursday, June 4, 2009

...Princess A has decided that it's time to get up (4 a.m.) to giggle, wiggle, and blow bubbles!

Mom really wants to sleep! But even if I just lean back in the chair and close my eyes, the giggles and bubbles stop so she can fuss at me. Once I open my eyes, it's all smiles again.

There should be a rule: once a baby has began sleeping through the night, they can't ever go back to NOT sleeping through the night. It's like starting all over again!

From Boring to Beautiful (A Thousand Words Thursday)

Thursday, May 28, 2009

Big Brother Despite having lived in my house for 15 years now, with the exception of a short stint that included some (very) ugly burning bush, the 17' x 7' spot under the far right window has been bare. It's sole purpose being to create more work and headache when it comes to mowing since it's seperated from the rest of the yard by a sidewalk.

Brian made it his goal this summer to relieve us of the empty spot with a garden. And the results are stunning! Such a transformation!

But...he couldn't have accomplished this without the help of a very special guy:

Friday Night Redneck Fun (A Thousand Words Thursday)

Thursday, May 21, 2009

Ever since Big Brother was old enough to know that Daddy was riding on something, he's wanted to be on whatever that something was.

Now that Princess A has come along, they've both decided it's time for her to join in their fun. So just this past Friday evening they introduced her to the fun of riding a lawnmower.

I think we are officially, 100%, grade A, government approved REDNECKS!

P.S. Just wondering how many more people could fit on there? Any guesses?
