Why Mix and Match Childrens Clothing Is Your Best Bargain

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

According to The Rupp Report, cotton prices have increased by more than 150% since July 2010. And they say these prices are going nowhere but up, up, and up.

*Sigh*

Clothing our children is only going to get more expensive. Those little tikes outgrow their clothes faster than you can snap your fingers, so it's more important than ever to make the most of shopping for children's clothing.

My first rule is to always shop children's consignment sales, and I firmly stand by that belief.

But every now and then I also enjoy treating my children to new clothing, such as when shopping for back to school clothes.

When it come to boys clothing, everything is mix 'n match so it seems.

But girls clothing are a whole different ballgame. That's specifically where I go looking for brands that allow for mixing and matching easily. And with adorable, cutesy names for each matching line, it makes it super-duper easy.

You can even turn it into a game of collecting all the pieces - right down to the purses, shoes, and hair accessories!

Also, if you look closely enough, you'll find that many of the pieces can match a second line of your choice to expand the wardrobe even more!

Once my daughter came along, it didn't take me long to learn that mix and match was the ONLY way to shop. No more wasted money on shirts or shorts with tags from not ever having something to match. Ugh, I shudder at the memories.

And did I mention the space saving of mix 'n match? Yeah, well, another post for another day, right?

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

I racked up quite a few gift cards during the holidays and what's the first thing I thing I think about buying?

Purses!

I know, I know. It's insanity, but I just love them.

And I know I'm not the only one.

I mean, really, who can resist prada handbags? They're just so stylish!

Or how about the stylish AND functional Rebecca minkoff handbags? I'm especially partial to the black "hobo" style! Talking about holding all my "stuff"!

But I love the Camille satchel style in marc Jacobs handbags. So classy and well designed.

Oh my, oh my! With so many selections, how is a girl to choose?

I remember when the Tickle Me Elmo doll first came out. It was the hot toy of the season.

And, of course, we fell right into it. Going store to store in search of that giggling, tumbling doll that was sure to bring much laughter from my youngest son.

Unlike a lot of others, we were successful with in finding a Tickle Me Elmo and, even today, all of us still get "tickled" out of Elmo's high pitched little voice as he rolls and laughs insanely.

All you need to do is create or update your baby registry at Amazon.com. Each month, from May through December, Amazon will choose one person to win a $3,000 Dream Registery and a year's worth of Huggie's Diapers!

Product Review & Giveaway: Trumpette Pixies for Newborn Baby Girls (Closed)

Sunday, March 29, 2009

WINNER: YZgirl4

As I've said many times before here, I was thrilled when I was blessed with a daughter in January 2009, after having three boys.

Even before her arrival, I was filling closets and drawers with frilly little outfits, lacy socks, and hair bows. My house was (and still is) an ocean of pinks, purples, yellows, and greens.

One of the most favorite items that I had when our bundle of joy arrived home was a pair of the Trumpette Pixie Booties in black and white.

Since it can be pretty impractical to put real shoes on a newborn's feet, these adorable booties give you the best of both worlds: the appearance of Capezios while actually only wearing socks!

Pixies come in a variety of colors. These booties are size 0 to 12 months, so your little one is sure to sport her classy "shoe socks" for quite some time!

Each pair comes in their own gift box. Trumpette Pixies make a perfect baby shower gift too!

Buy It! A selection is available at the Trumpette website and even greater selections can be found at one of their many retailers such as Anna Bean, Baby Bella, Trenditikes, Missfitz, and many others!

Win It! Win a pair of Trumpette's black and white Pixies! Here's all you need to do:
  • Visit the Trumpette website to see their complete line of products. Come back and leave a comment telling me which Trumpette product is your favorite along with their name and email address (if not in your profile).

For extra entries (be sure to leave an additional comment for each extra entry):

  • Add my button to your website with a return link. Already added it? Just let me know in your comment. 1 extra entry.

  • Become a follower on blogger. 5 extra entries.

  • Blog about this giveaway with a link to The Pacifist Mom and Trumpette. 10 extra entries. (daily)

  • Follow me on Twitter and Tweet about this giveaway. 5 extra entries. (daily)

  • Subscribe. 5 extra entries.

The Fine Print: Contest ends at 11:59:59 PM Central Time on Friday, April 24, 2009. Winner will be chosen by random number generator. Must be 18 years or older to enter.
