Mortal Danger by Ann Rule (Book Review)

Friday, April 10, 2009

I just finished reading Ann Rule's newest release Mortal Danger and Other True Cases: Volume 13. And I have to say that this is probably the best of all the Ann Rule crime file books!

The main (and first) story of the book is the Kate Jewell and Doctor John Branden story; a story of how, essentially, domestic violence can hide within what appears to be the most normal of people. Jewell managed to escape the vicious Branden, but another woman wouldn't be so lucky.

This intense story and it's tragic ending will suck you in and make the book one that can't be put down.

The second story within this book, Written In Blood, relates the story of the murders of Brian and Bev Mauck of Graham, Oregon. This young, newlywed couple would come to realize that you can't think you know.

The three remaining stories focus on crimes occuring during the 1970s; cases that seem to have been long forgotten except those who committed the crimes, the families of the victims and the detective who worked these senseless, gruesome homicides.

If you're a fan of true crime, this is a must read! You won't be disappointed!
