Simply Delicious Meat Loaf and Gravy (Ultimate Recipe Swap)
Thursday, April 2, 2009
As a child of the 80s, a meat loaf meal was a common occurence. I came to loathe meat loaf. But as an adult, I've learned to a little more dressing up with meat loaf and turned into a family favorite.
Just earlier this week, I used Campbell's Weeknight Cooking's Simply Delicious Meat Loaf and Gravy recipe. My family loved it! So I thought I would share it with you for this week's Ultimate Recipe Swap hosted by Life As Mom.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 punds ground beef
- 1/2 cup Italian-seasoned dry bread crumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's Condensed Golden Mushroom Soup
- 1/4 cup water
Directions:
- Thoroughly mix the beef, bread crumbs and egg in a large bowl. Put the mixture into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan and firmly shape into an 8 x 4 loaf.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Spread 1/2 can of the soup over the top of the meatloaf. Bake for 30 minutes more or until meat loaf is cooked through. Remove the meat loaf from the pan to a cutting board and let it stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of the pan drippings, remaining soup and water in a 1-quart saucepan over medium-high heat to a boil. Serve with the meat loaf.
