Wordless Wednesday AND Wordful Wednesday: First Captured Smile

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

This week I decided to combine both Wordless Wednesday and Wordful Wednesday because this photo was just too special not to tell about!

First Captured Smile

Since my daughter was born in January 2009, she has blessed me daily with quick, heartfelt smiles. And daily I have tried to capture them on camera. But as quickly as they appeared, they disappeared.

Until this past Monday when I caught one just before it disappeared.

I've been a mom for 17 years. Until January, I was a mom to only boys - three of them. And while I cherished their every smile, there is just something about seeing your daughter's face light up.

Maybe it's because I never expected to have a daughter. Maybe it's because a void has been filled. Maybe it's because she was a miracle baby.

Maybe it's simply because....she's my daughter.

She's beautiful! I have one boy, three girls. Haha. My first was the boy though. I love them all, and I know exactly what you mean about trying so hard to capture those first smiles on camera.

What a great picture. She is sooo cute. WOW, she has lots of hair too. None of our five kids ever started out with that much hair.

Awww, priceless. She is so cute and I love her hair! I have 3 boys myself. Sadly I will never get to experience having a girl.

What an absolute sweetheart, such a precious picture!

What a gorgeous little girl you have. I totally know what you mean about the smiles. I was armed with my camera 24/7 to cath my babies smiling. I loved it.

BTW, look at all of that hair! I had bald babies so I never experienced what that was like.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

What a blessing! I think mothers and daughters have a special relationship - just like daddy's and daughters. I'm not saying there isn't anything special about the sons - there is lots special about the sons - just something different about the daughters.

noreen March 18, 2009 at 12:37 PM

so sweet. I remember trying to catch those first fleeting smiles. Princess A was asleep the first time she smiled.

My newest daughter was also a January baby - and I've tried and tried to catch a smile on camera too! What a cutie - and a great head of hair!

Aw, so sweet! :-) I know exactly what you mean, there is nothing like waking up in the morning to my daughter's smiles and squeals. :-) But after three boys (as wonderful as they are), it must be more precious. :-)

Thank you for having my button in your sidebar, too by the way! :-) My address has changed to http://kindredspiritreviews.blogspot.com not long ago.
