It's Been Too Long....
Wednesday, June 2, 2010
I'll apologize right up front. I'm not so WORDLESS today. :)
It's been a while since I posted. May was a busy, busy month. Graduation, school letting out, kindergarten registration...yadda, yadda, yadda.
But I'm back! And here's a couple of photos I'd like to share of Princess A...my own little living doll. :)
Ok, I love to show off Princess A - she's about the only one who willingly allows me to take her picture anymore. But, I did manage to capture this one of my now-official College Bound Brat, a.k.a. Biggest Brother.

Somewhere Out There....
Monday, March 29, 2010

This week's challenge at I ♥ Faces is Dramatic Black and White.
Now that I have finally found a camera that I love, I'm ready to hone my skills in photography.
Unfortunately, that won't necessarily be this week but I'll play along anyway.
Visit http://www.iheartfaces.com/ to see some beautiful photography based on this week's challenge.
Capturing Beauty In All Its Forms
Monday, March 22, 2010
This week's I ♥ Faces Challenge is "Focus On Angles." This photo was taken last week during the most beautiful weather we've seen here in middle Tennessee in 2010. With clear skies and 70+ degree temps, it was a great opportunity to capture beauty...in all its forms.

Billboard Baby

Digital billboards make it difficult to get a clear picture. Nonetheless, we took this shot of Princess A in a local hospital's advertisement featuring Midwife Robin Bell.

The Driveway Streaker
Thursday, September 17, 2009

July 2006
Earlier in the day of this photo, we had purchased and set up a small snap pool set for Big Brother to play in.
After just a short stint of playing in the water - where it was too cold and he only wanted to play naked, which doesn't go hand-in-hand - he decided it was time to streak down our driveway for the whole neighborhood to see.
I did, fortunately, catch him long enough to put a towel around him. And it was cute the way it turned out - he looks like a mini (streaker) man!
It's Football Time In Tennessee!

Daddy's future free tickets to UT Vols football games!

Of course, he's going to have to wait awhile! ;)

Gotta Love 'Em!
Thursday, September 3, 2009

Sunday afternoon my 17-year-old son tells me he found Jesus.
Then shows me this photo.
I think he needs to find a new facial expression.
But I love him anyway. :)
What Is That Thing?

No. No. And-
Well, possibly. ;) For today's purposes, no.
Nope, this is a hunting house.
A.k.a.: a grown man's play house.
Nostalgia: The Warren County, Tennessee A & L Fair
Monday, August 24, 2009

Although they may not be so obvious, there are hundreds of faces here.
The Warren County A & L Fair in McMinnville, Tennessee makes its appearance only once a year; arriving in wee morning hours on the Sunday before the second Monday of the month of September.
As a child, I waited in anticipation as August came to an end and Labor day came to officially whisk summer away - even if it didn't immediately take the humid Southern summers.
The week of the fair was - still is - like our town's own personal holiday.
It is a week where old friends reconnect, old flames are revived (sometimes much to the despair of spouses and significant others), babies are put on display in the name of pageantry, a beauty queen is crowned; and the smell of grilled hamburgers, homemade apple pie, and cotton candy lures the most antisocial of society.
While the thrill of the county fair may have lost its flair for me over the years, I now see the anticipation in my own children's eyes.
A look that keeps me returning year after year after year...
