Will Your Children Hear President Obama's Speech Tuesday?

Friday, September 4, 2009

From WorldNetDaily: "Parents across the country are rebelling against plans by President Barack Obama to speak directly to their children through the classrooms of the nation's public schools without their presence, participation and approval....

At issue was an announcement that Obama plans to deliver a message directly to students via the Internet into public school classrooms across the nation on Sept. 8.

According to announcement posted on ServiceWire.org, Obama will address students "about the importance of persisting and succeeding in school" at 1 p.m. Eastern at the WhiteHouse.gov website.

The announcement said the federal Department of Education "is encouraging educators, students and parents to use this opportunity to help students get focused and begin the school year strong."

The government also is publicizing a list of suggestions for students and teachers to do in preparation for the speech, including studying Barack Obama's writings and presidency."

My Question:

Will you allow your children to participate in this event if your school district opts to broadcast it?

My Answer:

I think I've made my thoughts pretty clear in previous posts...lol....no, my children will not be permitted to attend school on that day.

It is MY responsibility to teach MY children about citizenship, not a President who has so been so transparent in his arrogant, egotistical views.

Although I declare my self a Republican, I can assure you if a Republican President was so brazenly against my views on morality, economics, citizenship, and race as Obama, my children would not listen to him either.

No kids in school but I agree 100% about making a choice. I'm so thankful we are able to make that choice.

I don't have kids so I can't comment about whether they would be attending school that day or not.

But I do believe that politics, no matter who is in office, should stay out of schools. I have no idea what the President plans to discuss but with the way things are going I think he needs to focus on other things and leave the kids alone.

I have a surprise for you on my blog.

There is no reason in a million years that I would allow him to speak directly to my child without permission and without my presence. I cannot stand him as a president and I did not vote for him so my child would be staying at home with me if he was in school and they chose to air this crap. Sorry but I am fed up with him. I got this off facebook this morning.
Let me get this straight... Obama's health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by ...a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that is nearly broke. What could possibly go wrong?

I'm actually a Democrat & this bugs the dickens out of me. I just (as in had to stop writing) received a phone call from our principle who said that our school doesn't have the technology & so it won't be live. However it will be taped & the teachers can make use of it that way. Luckily none of our teachers are interested. Sometimes it's nice living in the sticks!

I don't have kids so I hadn't heard about this, but it's very interesting. Thanks for bringing it to light :)

My little one is only 2 so I didn't even know about it. Interesting....something I'd have to think about.

My kids are too young to understand what's going on.
