What Would Your Obituary Say About You? (Writer's Workshop)
Monday, June 8, 2009
Writing your own obituary. Maybe it seems a bit morbid.
But I choose this prompt from Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop prompts after being inspired by an article in the Saint Louis Disptach about a man who wrote his own obituary before his death, and gave it to his sister to post when he died. He summed life up in 45 words.
45 words. So little words for a lifetime. Can it be done? Let me try:
Wife to Brian and blessed mother of four. She regarded being apathetic as an attitrute and prided herself on being a source for others' gossip mills. May they all be given one last log for their smoldering meddlesome fires by this last line: I WIN! |
Most definitely can be done; even if it is only understood by those who know you the best.
So what would your obituary read?
