DVD Review: Taken (Liam Nesson, Maggie Grace)

Let me begin with the most important part of this review: YOU'VE GOT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!

Hands down, Taken is the best (action) movie I have seen in a long time. It's hard to remember the last time a movie kept me on the edge of my seat, eyes lccked to the screen.

Bryan and Lenore divorced when their daughter, Kim, was just a very young girl due to the burdens of his job as a government "preventer."

Now, having just turned 17-years-old, Kim wishes to travel to France with a 17-year-old friend and be chaperoned by her friend's 19-year-old cousin.

After Bryan is manipulated by his ex-wife and daughter into allowing the trip despite his the internal screams of his parental instincts, he allows her to go. And even after learning at the airport that the trip doesn't only include France but numerous European countries as his daughter friend follow the band U2, he bids her a farewell; with instructions to call him everyday.

Within just mere minutes of arriving to their destination, Kim learns there is no chaperone. And shortly thereafter things go very awry as she watches her friend taken by strangers while she talks with her father on her international cellphone.

Bryan unfortunately makes difficult choices; including telling his daughter, "They are going to take you."

But as Bryan explains to her abductors when they discover her cellphone lying on the floor of her hiding place, he doesn't have a ransom to pay but he does have a set a highly-developed specialized skills that will allow him to hunt them down and kill them.

Thus, the chase is on.

Due to extreme violence, the nature of story surrounding the abduction, and language, this movie is not recommended for young children.

Adults, especially parents, will be gripped by the animal insticts of a father and root for him as he ruthlessly kills anyone who stands in the way of saving his daughter.

Definitely worth repeating: TAKEN IS A MUST SEE MOVIE!
